BUSINESS EDUCATION STUDENTS' PERCEPTIONS OF E-LEARNING SYSTEMS IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS OF BAUCHI STATE, NIGERIA
Abstract
This study investigated the business education students’ perceptions regarding e-learning system in tertiary institutions within Bauchi State, Nigeria. Adopting a descriptive survey research design, structured questionnaires were distributed to 220 randomly selected final-year business education students across four tertiary institutions in Bauchi State. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics such as mean and standard deviation. The findings indicate that Business Education Students in Bauchi State perceive e-learning as useful, user-friendly, accessible, and cost-effective. Addressing the existing challenges of e-learning system can facilitate the effective integration of e-learning in tertiary education in Bauchi State, enhance active student participation, improve educational experiences, and enhance learning outcomes. Consequently, the study recommends that tertiary institutions in Bauchi State should invest in technological infrastructure, provide continuous training on e-learning tools, integrate blended learning approaches into the curriculum, establish dedicated support services for students, and regularly assess e-learning effectiveness to promote active student participation in e-learning activities.
