EFFECT OF FLIPPED CLASSROOM STRATEGY ON ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF PUPILS IN BASIC SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN ILORIN WEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, KWARA STATE
Abstract
The use of appropriate instructional strategy is very essential for this reason, researchers investigated effect of flipped classroom strategy on academic performance of primary school pupils in Basic Science and Technology. This study adopted pretest-posttest Quasi-experimental research design. A stratified random sampling technique was used to select two public and two privates. Performance Test was used to obtain pretest and posttest scores. The instrument was validated by the lecturers in the department. The reliability coefficient of the instruments was obtained at .74. Data collected were analysed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). All the hypotheses were tested at a 0.05 level of significance. It was found that there was a significant main effect of flipped classroom strategy on pupils' basic science and technology academic performance(F (1; 91)Â = 28.821, P < 0.05). It was concluded that a workshop should be organised for teachers on how to use flipped classroom strategy.
